Are You Associated Press?

*****

I heard another little voice the other day. It asked me, “Are you associated with WordPress?”

Well, I have been making blog posts and pages at the WordPress website for a number of years. So, I guess, in a way, I am associated with them. Yeah.

“Then, I guess, that makes you Associated Press.”

Hey. Whatdya know. I’m (an) Associated Press. You might have heard that term in the news or on some celebrity award show. ‘Just letting you know there’s more to me than meets the eye. [Heh-heh.]

You Don’t Bring Me Pleasurrre…Anymorrre

***

This one goes out to all you tech heads running this space.

You don’t bring me commeeeents.
You don’t lead me to lasting friendshiiips.

You hardly show me anything helpfulll, anymorrre,
When I log in during the downsiiide of my solituuuude.

I remember when this was all fresh and new;
And, flashing signs promised so many pleasing options.
You used to welcome me with that little light.
Now, I’m lucky if it ever shines.

When it’s good for you, WordPress,
It still sucks for me.

Well, you just roll over;
Roll out your new format
And tell me to update my technology.
Because you don’t bring me pleasurrrre, anymorrrre.

It used to be so simple. [Used to be.]
But, nothing ever is.
Just like breathing in all of the pollution,
Your place is littered with lousy biiiz.

WordPress, I’d say I remember all the things you taught me,
But then, I learned them before yooou.

I learned how followers are often nothing but cons, mindless drones and thieves.
And, how LIKES mean next to nothiiing.

Well, I also learned how to limit my usage
And apply my time to better thiiings.

But, honestlyyy, what are better thiiings?

So, do you think I could learn
How to tell you goodbye?

Because you don’t lead me to lasting friendshiiip.

You don’t confirm my work has valuuue.

And you don’t really bring me pleasurrre…anymorrre.

[But, I’ll still be posting here until divine intervention points me to a better alternative…until the love runs out.]

Ah, WordPress glitches, I Know Them Well

***

So, just a quick note this time.  Now, it’s blog posts from WordPress.com itself on my feed that don’t open in separate tabs when I try to do just that?   They just come up “page not found.”

Is this just another “Um, you need to check your updated browser and such” push-the-glasses-up-the-nose moment?  Or, maybe it’s just cuz the site hasn’t put a new post on my feed in more than two years?

A WordPress Photo Folder/Filter Tool Suggestion

*****

Just a small suggestion to the makers of WordPress, home of 30-some percent of the internet’s power?

I’ve added A LOT of images to my lil Media folder.  Most of them are valentines I have designed in recent years here.  And, when I want to find other images for posts I make, sometimes reusing images from long ago as Featured Images, it can be a bit of a pain/drag to scroll all the way back through ALL of my images just to find the one(s) I need, even with “super-fast internet service.”

So, just a thought….and I know there is probably a forum better suited for such things…I’m just not looking for it right now.

Buuut, could there be some kind of folder/filter tool added to the media storage system which allows contributors to your 30 plus percent of the internet-verse to home in on particular images via some Key Word/Tag or maybe a sub-folder system in which images could be categorized by date?  Even that would make things simpler, as I can see dates appear around the images, letting me know when they were added…but if I can’t just zip to the dates, like I can with my digital camera, when I go to the “dates taken” menu thingy, then the dates do very little other than let me know when I added those images.

Whatdya think?  Just a thought.  A good one, I think.

Vanishing Comments, Too?

***

I swear, this had better be a glitch…and it probably is.  But, if there’s any chance this is linked to me trying to remove unwanted Follow-ers and some sort of Pandora’s box I opened…

Now, I know some people have comment filtering.  But, more often, I submit a comment and see it on the page with “waiting for approval” or something like that.  But, since yesterday and my fuss about the bad follow-ers, every time I submit a comment, it just vanishes without a trace.  And, I hate to feel so stupid to keep writing out my thoughts just to have them disappear.

So, am I just running into a new shift in the way things work here, is this a glitch or do I have another reason to fuss?

Can’t Remove Unwanted Follow-ers?!

***

Congrats, WordPress.  You’ve done it, again.  One more thing that doesn’t work when I try it.

You’d think by having the latest computer tech that everything would be up to speed, but that’s not the case.

What am I complaining about, now?

I finally figure out there’s an option to Remove unwanted Follow-ers, namely ones I know are not actually interested in my blog for reasons other than stalking and marketing purposes, and the damn thing won’t work!  I can delete people I know are legitimate and nice enough (probably; I’m not going to chance it).  But, when I wave the cursor over the “bad ones,” it doesn’t always show the hand or register a click.  And, instead, I get a “Stop Script” error message about WordPress not functioning properly.  And, after that, everything starts freezing up, and soon portions of the page disappear.  I can’t log out or anything.  So, I close the window, reopen and have to log in, again.

Tons of fun!  NOT.

For all I know, it’s the scammers/phishers sending me spam and racking up views on that stinky post I made.  I have a strong suspicion the trouble is coming from the Ukraine.

I want the stalkers and scammers/phishers off my reader list.  Do I name names and get someone else to do it?
